Richard Mapley (1808-1851), b. Great Linford, England, d. New Norfolk, Tasmania
Richard was 5'4", a Protestant, could read and write, and a farmer.
Son of William Mapley (1779-1851) and Hannah (1778-). He married Fanny Goss (1808-1878).
His children were Fanny, Sarah, Joseph, Thomas, John, Joshua, Jane, Sarah, Mary Anne, Hannah.
Richard was sentenced to 10 years for stealing bread and a sheep. He was tried at Alsbury and transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on HMS Elphinstone, arriving 17/6/1845. He served 4 years of his sentence before release. He sent for his family, who arrived on the William Jardine on 27/8/1849.

Charles Mapley, (1938-), b. Great Linford, England
Charles was a Protestant and an agricultural labourer.
Son of George Mapley (1808-) and Sarah Reynolds (1808-). He married Ann (1843-).
His children were Harry, George, Sally, William, Elizabeth, Sarah
Charles worked as an agricultural labourer all his life, in Great Linford.

Harry Mapley, (1873-1939), b. Great Linford, England, d. Newport Pagnell, England
Harry was a Protestant, and a wood sawyer.
Son of Charles Mapley (1838-) and Ann (1843-). He married Sarah Foster (-1898) who dies in childbirth with Gertrude. He then married Louise Oliver (1871-1938).
His children were Gertrude, Alfred, Charles, Ada.
Harry initially worked as a brickyard labourer/carter until gaining employment at London, Midland & Scottish Railways and becoming a wood sawyer.

Alfred John Mapley, (1902-1979), b. Great Linford, England, d. Northampton, England
Alfred was 5'0", a Protestant, and a carpenter.
Son of Harry Mapley (1873-1939) and Louise Oliver (1871-1938). He married May Harper (1903-1931).
His only child was Maurice from May Harper. He re-married, to Muriel Walker (-1980)
Alfred worked as a carpenter at British Rail in Wolverton.

Maurice Mapley, M.I.Mech.E., (1927-2007), b. Great Linford, England
Maurice is 5'11", a Protestant, and a Chartered Mechanical Engineer.
Son of Alfred Mapley (1902-1978) and May Harper (1903-1931). He married Mary O'Hanlon (1936-1998) in 1956.
His children are David, Elizabeth, Ursula, Gillian.
Maurice trained as a bomb-aimer and navigator with the RAF in 1945 but the war ended before he saw active service. He was a keen sportsman, playing soccer for Great Linford, cricket for Buckinghamshire, and boxing with the RAF.
Maurice initially worked as an apprentice draughtsman at British Rail in Wolverton before obtaining engineering qualifications and moving to Liverpool with his work in 1956. He married and has lived there ever since.

David Mapley B.Sc.(Econ.), M.Sc., M.B.A., M.Inst.D. (1959-), b. Liverpool, England
David is 5'11", a Protestant, an investment banker/fund manager.
Son of Maurice Mapley (1927-) and O'Hanlon (1936-1998). He married Jacqueline Hauge (1959-) in 1991, in Tokyo, Japan, and re-married to Irene Machavariani (1973-) in 2005 in Tbilisi, Georgia.
His children are Christopher, Timothy, Alex.
David is an active rower, having rowed from age 12 at Merchant Taylors' School, Crosby, and at Masters level won the 'B' 8's gold medal at the US Masters Championships in Syracuse in 1996, and won 2nd. place at the World Masters 'B' 8's in Montreal in 2001 ('B' 8 - age 36-42) and 2nd. place at the World masters 'C' 4x in Princeton in 2006.
David completed undergaduate and post-graduate degrees at the London School of Economics. He also completed post-graduate studies and lived in Chicago (1984-85), worked in Sydney (1985-87, 1995), Tokyo (1988-1993), Hong Kong (1993-1995), and Connecticut & London (1995-). He has travelled extensively throughout Asia (1986-1996) and the Former-Soviet Union (1993-).
